Get Plugged In
I wanted to send out an email letting you know that we are going to be doing what we are going to call Real Talk with our youth in October. These will be purity talks and it will be a Friday evening to Saturday event.
The girls will be at a designated location with Mrs. Emily and Mrs. Kayla and the guys will be at a separate location with Pastor Chris and Mr. James.
The girls will be from 8th-12th grade and the guys will be 9th to 12th grade.
We know for some these are things that you would rather talk with your children about and we understand that. That is why I am sending out this email. I am trying to get an general number of who would be attending this weekend so that I can prepare.
Also I wanted you guys to be able to email me any questions you might have to what we will be covering in these talks as well. I want you guys to be informed.
HEY YOUTH of CCMP!!!
Just wanted to remind you guys that youth night this month is going to be a swimming party and the Angier home!!
August 10th 6-9p
With it being a swimming party please dress with modesty. No Speedos for the guys and no two pieces for the girls. If all that you have is a two piece pleace bring a shirt to wear over your bathing suit.
We will have hot dogs, soda, and chips and I believe fun is on the menu as well!! Here are the directions to the Angier's:
Head North on 271 towards Paris
Turn left on Tankersley Road (Runs right alongside Two Senoritas and Toyotadealership....DO NOT take I-30 ramp)
On your right you will pass VFW and Tankersley Garden
You will then see a white wooden fence on your right,when that fence ends you will see a black metal fence.
There you will see a gate marked RR and that is where you want to be
Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Good Afternoon CCMP,
I just wanted to share with you guys an opportunity that has arisen for us to serve our community.
Greer Farms in the Pittsburgish area has closed their blueberry fields as of last week. However there are still a lot of blueberries that are left to be picked. A member of our body has asked if it would be ok for us to go out there and pick blueberries to donate to Titus County Cares our local food bank and Greer Farms has sad yes.
This is where you guys come in!! We need people to pick the blueberries! If you are available to pick blueberries tomorrow that would be such an awesome blessing to Titus County Cares and the community that we live in. This is an opportunity to be the hands and feet of the Lord as we provide for those in need. This could be a great experience for some to serve together as family. Kids are welcomed to help, but we need to make sure that we supervise them for their own safety
If you can be there, we will have someone there at 8am in the morning. Since it warms up so quickly in the summer it is nice to get an early start!
Here are the directions for those of you who can be there:
Take 49 towards Dangerfield;
Turns right on FM 1735 (at the Star Mart);
Stay on this road for 8.1 miles;
Turn left on to Hwy 11;
Stay on 11 for 4.6 miles;
Turn right on CR 1124 go 0.6 miles;
Turn right on CR1125 go 0.9 miles;
And then a left into the field.
Please bring plastic sacks (i.e. Wal-Mart or Brookshire sacks) to put the blueberries you pick in. There will be someone there to collect the blueberries you pick and get them to Titus County Cares!
Also it would be good if you brought some water so that you can stay hydrated while working in the sun!
I am excited about the opportunity God has provided for us to serve and hope you are too!!
Hey Guys here is a link to the permission slip that you will need to have filled out and returned before you can go to Six Flags. The goal is to pull out of the church parking lot at 8:00am. So grab your coffee, Monsters, or Red Bulls and get to the church by at least 7:45am.
In the past two weeks I have been brought to these particular verses in Habakkuk.
Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
The Lord Godis my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills. –Habakkuk 3:17-19
Habakkuk had just heard from God how He was going to take care of the wickedness of His people with the Babylonians. It was not going to a pretty site. Yet despite all of this Habakkuk penned this song at the end of chapter 3. Showing us that despite what we have and our circumstances we can still have hope and joy in our lives if we find it in God.
Starting from an early age though, we naturally begin to put our joy and hope in the temporal things of this world. I can remember a time when my happiness was dependent on whether or not I had the entire collection of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Master Splinter and the Turtle Van. Oh the disappointment I had to face on my birthday when I opened a Ghost Busters vehicle when it should have been the Turtle Van.
You see we will live a life of disappointment and dissatisfaction if we are always looking for the Turtle Van to feel completed. Though we may have Master Splinter in our hands, that wise rat will not get us through the tough times. The question we have to ask ourselves is where do we find our joy in “things” or in Him?
